Media & Policy Center: Projects
We are developing new media projects in four areas we believe to be
critical to the future of our country and the world -- health
care, education,
public affairs, and education.
We are basing our work on these projects on a strategy that combines
global media with local action: Carefully researched film and video
is produced and distributed broadly through broadcast channels, DVD distribution,
and the Internet. We then ground the issues in local terms by organizing
regional "town hall" meetings
that further refine the issues from local perspectives and identify opportunities
for immediate, local action. This is a powerful approach, one that we
have seen to be successful in our past work and that we look forward
to applying to critical issues in public policy in the future.
Health Care
Finding a livable balance between
the natural and built environments.
Best practices to improve the life and health
of our children.
Journeys through the experiences, challenges,
and rewards of caregiving.
Mobility solutions that work for our growing
population of older drivers.
Environment
Artists and entrepreneurs work together
to revitalize a great American city.
Live events that extend the Edens vision
to cities throughout the country.
Practical ways to improve the environment
and quality of life in our cities, for ourselves and future generations.
Public Affairs
Celebrating the American family farmer as
they revitalize the joy of what we eat.
A multimedia contest and broadcast of young
peoples' ideas about the presidency.
Stories of the legacy and struggles of Native
Americans, as told through Johnny Cash's music.
We cannot be truly free without access to safe, clean, and affordable rapid mass transportation.
Education
What we teach our children
will determine who we,
as a society, are, and will become.
Extending our media projects into educational curricula that produce social action.
