Since 1994, Illinois Teacher of the Year Deb Perryman has worked to transform her students into natural resource and community advocates. During the 2003-04 school year, her students volunteered in 130 classrooms, implemented a district wide reading program, stenciled 800 storm drains and taught over 7,000 younger learners about Illinois' Natural History.
